V-Series Analog Console EQ/Comp
Thenew V-Series plug-ins model classic British analog audio components inpainstaking detail, making time-honored analog sounds available for thelatest high-resolution digital environments.
The V-Series consistsof three elements, the V-COMP Compressor/Limiter, the V-EQ4 4-BandEqualizer and the V-EQ3 3-Band EQ. Each plug-in has been developed bycareful analysis and measurement of rare original analog components.The original modules, which date from the early 1970s, possessqualities and subtleties that have never been more accurately modeled.Extensive measurement and listening tests confirm that the new V-Seriesplug-ins successfully emulate the originals in every detail. The V-COMPis a classic British-design feedback-based stereo compressor/limiterdesign with
de-esser. The compressor features fixed ratio settingsof 1.5:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 and 6:1 with a fixed attack time and adjustablerecovery time, with automatic make-up gain. The limiter also hasadjustable recovery time including an "auto" setting and variablethreshold.
The equalizers feature a silky-smooth andcrystal-clear HF sound even at high levels of boost, and fat,well-rounded low end, while the mids can be used to add presence andfine-tune without introducing harshness. The V-EQ4 emulates a classic4-band console equalizer with HF bell/shelving switch and multiple HFcenter frequencies. Two midrange controls are included, both withhigh/low Q switching. LF includes bell/shelving switching, as well asmulti-frequency highpass and lowpass filters. The V-EQ3 models twohighly regarded 3-band console EQ modules with continuously variableboost and cut at three bands, particularly suited for vocal, midrangeand bass frequency control. In addition, there is also a High PassFilter.
Diamond, Platinum, Restoration, and Transform Bundles
TheMercury Collection introduces the new Waves V-Series emulation ofvintage EQ and comp/limiter technology. It also introduces MaxxVolume,a stunning all-in-one dynamics processor. Mercury includes the entireDiamond bundle; the acclaimed L-Series Ultramaximizers andMultimaximizers; and GTR Guitar Tool Rack and custom hardware, theultimate in guitar sound technology developed in conjunction with PaulReed Smith Guitars. Mercury also features the complete 360° SurroundTools collection of 5.1 surround processors; Waves Tune pitchcorrection and transformation plug-in and the DeBreath automatic breatheliminator; IR1 and IR360 parametric convolution-based reverberationsystems; and Z-Noise, for advanced dynamic noise reduction.
